Our Approach

PMAPs approach to higher education provides self-guided journey to discovering psychology in a supportive environment. We offer self-guided courses that are easy to understand and practical, yet are still at the level expected of higher education courses. Our system is relatively straight-forward: students sign up and complete courses at their own pace.

Below is the general structure of our courses and some advantages to our approach.

Structure and Knowing What's Expected. All courses are divided into sections, called modules. The suggested pace is to complete no more than about one module each week (within the allowed three month period). However, some students may move faster. After each module students complete an exam to test their understanding of the material.

Convenience. Courses, assignments, and exams are completely online. There are no scheduled class meetings. This system gives you the added advantage of being able to prepare and study when it is convenient for you, and not have to travel to a campus.

A Professional Education. Materials included in our courses are professionally prepared. The courses are generally easy to follow and combine both practical implications with research findings and theory.

Flexible Uses. Our courses can help you develop new skills and knowledge, update existing skills and knowledge, and attain personal fulfillment. There are many uses for our courses. Examples include career-related needs, home applications, and leisure. PMAP is academic in nature and promotes higher education in psychology.

Only Psychology. All of our courses are about various aspects of psychology. There are no courses you must take outside of psychology. We do one thing - teach psychology. This narrow focus benefits our students as we are provided the luxuary to specialize in teaching and coordinating only one area of studies.

Tuition-Free Low Cost. Perhaps the best advantage of all is that PMAP offers quality courses that our faculty have developed and taught at major universities, yet without the cost of most universities for the same course information you might encounter at a university. Because our courses are offered online, without the need for extensive maintenance of buildings and grounds, etc, we are able to offer courses without large charges to our students. There is no tuition, only a small clearly stated fee. The big advantage to you, then, is that PMAP offers courses that are a cost effective and practical investment in yourself and your future.
