Support PMAP

Any and all help we receive is greatly appreciated and can make a huge impact in our ability to fulfill our mission. Of course, we appreciate large financial gifts! However, the reality is that most of our students, alumni, and website visitors cannot make large corporate-type gifts.

So, we call on you to help in any way possible. PMAP provides low-cost courses and free resources in psychology. Students pay small fees ($10) that cover very basic costs for that individual student. As a result, ALL of our operating revenue comes from sources outside of the course fee. That means we have a huge 'black hole' in our resources that only our supporters can help us fill. Below are four ways YOU can help support PMAP and allow us to continue to provide our resources outside of charging tuition and additional fees.

Donations from friends and alumni are a key source of income for PMAP. Just a few dollars (or even $1) from you can make a huge difference in meeting our expenses and promoting our sustainability. If you like what we do and what we stand for, please give and show your support for tuition-free online education.

Create a scholarship in your name (or whatever name you choose) to help cover the course fees for students. You select the criteria for awards, how many, how often, etc. Contact us to discuss this option.

Spreading the word about PMAP is another great way to support us. The more students who sign up for our programs, and the more visitors that come to our website, the stronger PMAP becomes and the faster it grows. Unlike most universities and institutes, PMAP does not have a large advertising budget. So, you can help substantially by telling others about PMAP through email, blogs or websites, and any other sources you can think of.

Donate a resource. For instance, if you have an interest in a psychology-related topic, you could contribute a relatively brief (under 1,000 words) article for our library or student support page. You get author credit, of course, and a free backlink if you have a webpage you would like to support. Of course, we would have to approve the article before we post it. So, it might be a good idea to let us know before you start writing. We'll work with you, if need be, to give editorial suggestions, etc.

Visit a sponsor. Some of our pages have sponsor's advertisements, etc. Visiting those links provides us a little extra help to cover our costs as well.

Business Sponsorships are another way to support PMAP. Sponsors may have their names, logos, and/or links presented on a special support webpage or one of our high traffic pages, depending on the level of sponsorship. For the second quarter of 2010, the PMAP website received an average of 2,400 visits per month, and its Alexa traffic ranking is about 480,000 (general) and 108,000 (U.S.).
